Volvo S40 - trembling car on high speeds
Discussion
Hello,
I'm having what seems like the same problem with my Volvo S40 (petrol, 2000 reg). It started a few dayus ago, and getting worse. I changed the rear right tyre as this was losing pressure, but no change. And now I've noticed that the car is leaning towards the right at the back. Can hardly notice the lean at the front.
Anybody who knows a little bit more about cars than I do (not very hard at all) have any ideas as to the cause ? I'm getting it seen to later today.
I also noticed when changing the rear tyre that there's a disc behind the brake disc that's completely rusted and crumbling to pieces the minute I touched it - see photo. Again, I'll point it out to the mechanic, but does anyone know if this is serious or not ? Surely , can't be good !
Many thanks !
Cheers.

Resuscitating this one...
I've got a T4 and had the same problem, now fixed:
Put the car up onto a ramp and with my hand turned the wheels on all four corners, the front left would stick at every revolution.
Essentially previous owner had installed cheap disks (service history shows he paid through the nose for them too!) and the front left disk warped resulting in wobbles at high speeds and under braking. Installed Vovlo disks and problem solved
