My D5 just lost power
Discussion
I was just over taking a car on the way home this evening and my V50 D5 just lost power. I'm sure that the turbo decided to give up the ghost. I got home, got on the phone to Volvo, and 30 minutes later went to take it to the garage, and full power had been restored. Called Volvo to tell them, and they had no answer for it, but told me to just monitor the situation...
The car has only done 2200 miles, so I'm a little concerned.
Any other similar experience?

Not a D5 but my last V50 2.0D would occasionally lose all power just a short while after firing up. I put it down to the engine management getting it's knickers in a twist during the boot up.
The first time it happened was when loading onto a ferry and half way up the steepest ramp I've ever driven up, which was slightly awkward, and worrying as about to head off on a long trip.
But it was OK, just learned to recognise the symptoms, either it all came back after a few seconds, if not then stop, switch off, turn back on, wait and let system boot up, operate starter. Never failed.

they must have read off the fault code ? and this will need to be erased to get the car out of "limp home mode" you should ask what the code indicated, could be numerous things to put the car in "limp home mode" but there has been problems with turbos that needed replacing. The car has only done 2200 miles, so I'm a little concerned.
