Hi all

With our second little boj on the way its become fairly apparent that our current fleet may not be the most practical? biggrin

After showing the OH whats about on ebay, and trying to fathom out what she does / doesn't like - she proclaims a strange love for the V70?

Being tight we don't want to spend more than £1500 +/- and want to stick to pre 200 models.

What am I on the look out for in terms of problem areas, "common" faults etc. Someone I know has said about fly by wire throttle position sensors???

Whats the fuel economy like generally?

Any other info gratefully received smile

Hi Ben.
I don't know a great deal but do know a bit as I've been looking for one as well. From what I've heard they'll generally do a real high mileage, but there's plenty of different specs and I've noticed that higher spec cars look nicer and seem to age better. Also look at engines - there are plenty of options - 10v or 20v, 1.0l or 2,5 etc. Look in the technical tab of adverts in AutoTrader for power and typical economy of different engines. All of them will be quicker than the Allegro though - LOL!!!

Over 250,000 miles in a 2.5T and a T5, not once left on the side of the road and, although religiously serviced, they were both worked hard. If you want a family car, brill, some of the models have a child seat folded behind the rear arm rest.
