V40 Petrol Gauge

The petrol gauge on my car has stopped working. I filled it up at the weekend but the electonic gauge didn´t show as full and the miles remaining carried on going down until it read as empty.

Does anyone know if this is a common problem or an easy fix, the constantly flashing light is beginning to get annoying.

its the sender plug under the rear seat, you'll need to remake the connections
