It sounds like a bag of spanners being thrown down a fire escape.
Its very very very very slow.
Seriously though, the cambelt on mine snapped at 130k, however this was due to it having been done by a stty local garage before I bought it, and I broke the cardinal rule of "thou shalt change thy cambelt" on the basis it had been done. £300 worth of parts later and I had rebuilt it.
I am now doing 5-600 miles a week, never getting below 45mpg, and since the rebuild and new valve stem seals it doesn't smoke either.
If you can possibly manage it cleaning out all the black sooty oily dieselly gunk that the stuid EGR system clogs the inlet manifold/valves up with is a very good idea. I think I might remove them EGR actually.
the gearbox linkage bushes wear out, these are about £10 and 10 mins to fit.
