RICA'D 855 T5. ALTERNATIVE USES.KIT BASE/TRACK CAR?
Discussion
I would like to make use of my 855 T5 as a basis for an occasional (weekend) fast road/circuit car.
Mechanically excellent (always serviced at HLM / Volvo Tuning), but now too thirsty for my 140 mile daily commute. 2nd hand sale value would not cover the last service bill(!), so I'd like to re-invent it somehow.
Does anyone know of a kit car that uses 850/855 mechanicals as a donor basis? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Alternatively, stripped of all the heavy luxury trim/seats/electrics etc. given its BTCC pedigree I presume it could be used on 'track days' - something that interests me, but know nothing about Again, I'd appreciate any advice / suggestions to point me in the right direction.
Thanks.

I do not know of anyone who provides a kit using the essential parts of an 850.
You will find a lot of people, including myself, who take their Volvos on track at either www.t5d5.org or www.vpcuk.org and also www.volvoclub.org.uk when it finally gets back up.
I keep stock of much stuff to modify these cars www.kalmar-union.com
A real hoot if you go about it the right way....
Regards, Don.
