850R/T5-R buying tips

Not my usual forum i will admit, but i'm just after a bit of info.
Can anybody give me or point me in the direction of a decent buyers guide for the 850R/T5-R?
Just the general stuff like what to look for, what it should and shouldn't have on it. What mechanical stuff i should be aware of like gearboxes, turbos etc.
I know they're a bit like Saabs in that they'll do huge mileages, but can anybody tell me what the spec of the engine is? Specifically does it have forged pistons on the hot models, and how well they respond to tuning, especially in regards to their reliability?
It's (as always) just an idle thought at the moment, but i have seen a couple of nice ones for sale, but i'd like to get a bit more power out of them if possible. Is auto or manual best?
