I'm toying with the idea of a V50 D5 manual R-Design Sport. Does anyone have one of these with the standard leather/T-tec seats, as I'm thinking although they look ok new they will look very grubby very quickly especially with a 4 year old boy in the back smile

My problem is that if I upgrade to off-Black leather (£500) then I won't have enough allowance to get metallic paint.

What would people recommend? Is the T-tec actually ok to keep clean?

There are deposit contributions (£650) with Volvo Finance or if you take Contract Hire the Met Paint is free anyway. Drop me a line at Tollbar Coventry if you need any figures!

Im guessing when he says allowance its a company car purchase. Plus you probably wont get a car till April at the earliest with the way supply is at the moment.

Sorry I didn't make that clear. Yes it is a company car, and I didn't want to go over my allowance and have to contribute if at all possible.

My renewal date is 11th May, are there big issues with getting hold of the manual D5's in particular?

I'll have to pop in to my dealer whilst they are open! I went on Sat but it was a bit late, and I was only able to have a look at the V50 on the forecourt. I thought the cream part of the seats was T-Tec, with the black being leather, but it is the otherway round, so that would be better to keep clean! Looks very nice, and I think it will be a much better choice than an Audi A3.

Thanks,

Paul.

Just had a test drive in a D5 manual R-Design Sport S40. Quite a nippy creature, especially after my Focus! That engine has so much more character and a much wider power band than the VAG 2.0 170bhp in the A3. A no brainer in the end, just got to get the quotes sorted now, but even if I have to go for a red one with the standard seat to keep the cost down, I'll have the D5 over the 2.0d.
