Hi all, we are expecting our third child this summer, and it has dawned on me that we are not going to get three child seats accross the back seat of our Audi A6. Does anyone know if an XC90 rear seat can accomodate three child seats? The children will all be under three so for a couple of years all will be in full child seats as opposed to boosters which seem smaller.
Also on the seven seat option models do the seats fold flat to the floor or do they need to be stored in the garage when not being used?
Thanks for any feedback.

all UK XC90's are 7 seats and the rearmost seats do disappear into the floor leaving a flat boot space.

I doubt you'll get 3 child seats in the middle row, but is 1 child is older (4+) then the middle seat on the middle row has a built in booster and you would get a car seat either side.

Agree - we have a 3 going on for 4 year old and she happily sits in the booster seat in the middle. Easily fit adults either side or as in your case child seats.

Rear most seats fold flat into the floor for a massive boot space.

Overall there is loads of leg room for the passengers (even with my seat setup - I'm 6'2'') - kids or even adults have never complained even on long journeys.

Just bought my XC90 T6 se last week. Had a Porsche Cayenne S for three years, and thought that would last for a while longer, but now expecting twins.

I researched just about every car / brand for about three months. This is the only car on the market (apart from a Holden/Vauxhall Monaro V8 smile ) that will take three childs seats.
I specifically wanted 3 isofix, but the XC90 has 2 + the integrated one for our 3.5 year old.

Thanks all for the comments.
955 GUY are you saying that XC90's definately take 3 child seats accross the back, but that two plus an integrated booster is all that you need?
When the third child arrives (touch wood etc) my eldest will only be 25 months so it will be a while before he could use a booster.

2 seats + booster works in my situation. 2 expected twins + 3.5 year old on the booster.

not sure that a 3rd seat would squeeze in the middle between the outboard ones.
if it did, you could only secure via seatbelts rather than isofix/latch system.
Saying that, all 3 rows slide independently, so the XC90 gets round the normal problem of the
car seats touching.

2nd alternative: as a 2 year old still needs a 'proper' kids seat, use one of the seats in the third row? still leaves one seat down and a fair amount of boot space??

My wife wants one of these.

I have been looking around and the T6 are so much cheaper. Yes I know the MPG is going to be worse but surely the cheaper buy price (and lower milage examples) and higher cost of diesel could make it a better buy.

What MPG are people getting from the T6? Are there any other issues with the engine that I should know about.

I've heard 13 mpg round town and well under 20 at the best of times. Really is a thirsty car and you'd have to be doing very low miles a year to consider one over the D5 IMO.

2.5 turbo might be a good solution though, as it's a bit better on fuel and still quite a bitter cheaper than the diesels.
