Headlamp glass removal
Discussion
Just wondered how difficult it is to remove the glass to clean inside it, and replace the seal, I keep getting condensation/rain inside it. Its a 2002 S80.
You can see it in this photo, its the nearside light. I assume you dont have to remove any trim to take it out, just sort of unclip the clips on the top, and ease it out.
Tks.

Don't have an answer but suggest you try the Volvo Owners Club site. It contains Forums for all models and the tech info is excellent. It's either been covered, (try a forum search), or someone will have definitive info on how-to and likely cause/remedial action to stop it happening again.

The S60's suffered from the problem,
The resolution is to get the new "Main beam" rubber cover replaced for the "upgraded one" that has Goretex in it so that the headlight can breathe.
Thanks for info, will enquire this week when the S80 goes in for 2 new tyres. By the way, have you tried to remove them, is it easy? or do you suggest a garage do it.The resolution is to get the new "Main beam" rubber cover replaced for the "upgraded one" that has Goretex in it so that the headlight can breathe.

It's fairly simple, when you change the bulb, you have to remove a rubberised/plastic cover.....
Just pull it off and fit the new one.
Headlamp removal itself is a bumper off job
Great, now I understand, I kind of thought getting the front glass would not be as simple as I thought, tks for that.Just pull it off and fit the new one.
