V40 Stereo - Bass/midrange speakers gone AWOL

Got a slight problem with our V40 stereo (HU-605). For some reason, the bass/midrange speakers have decided not to work so we're only getting radio/cd through the tweeter units.

Anyone know if this is just likely to be a plug coming off the back of the head unit or a blown fuse? Any special keys required to removed the head unit if need be?

hi,possibly amp has failed,this only powers the normal speakers,the tweeters are straight from the radio.

I think you could be right. Checked the fuse for the audio system and that's fine.

Next question - where does the amp live??

i think the amp lives behind the o/s rear trim panel in the boot.
