In response to a vicious turn of fate, I intend to be using my recently acquired and as yet unmodified 850 T5 estate automatic tow car ( or at least that was the intention at the time of purchase ) as my track day stand in at Le Mans Bugatti circuit on 19.7.07 and was wondering if any out there have any tips on last minute preparation for the occasion?
The car is already fitted with a set of Toyo 888's and I am of to see Don @ Kalmar Union tomorrow for a chip upgrade ( a REAL 260bhp can be expected I am assured ) and I have had the brakes renewed only yesterday.
I realise that this situation is far from ideal but am treating it as a taster for next year when I plan to attend the 24hr Classic race and do the pre race track day in my proper car yes

Have a look at the RICA upgrade which you can get at www.volvotuninguk.com

You can have a REAL 290 hp with this, as demonstrated by someone on a different forum, link is here - http://www.vpcuk.org/forums/showthread.php?t=21608

Hello wavey, Plum here.
I thought ( and hoped ) that might be the case but, for me anyhow, it wasn't.
I went to LeMans Bugatti Circuit and tracked the T5 but it was just too big and heavy and although no slouch on the road it was slow on track. I had good fun, met a few people and learned a few usefull tips for next time but as for 'hanging around the paddock in a lesser car', no thanks, been there and done that yes
