as title says,

is there anything to look out for on these bad boys?rotate

Also, what is the cheapest way to get to circa 300hp, or what is involved....can the box take that sort of power or will it stip its dummy out?

Your task depends on which model and year of T5 that you are getting.

The original '94/'95 T5's were 220bhp with weak internals and the very smallest of turbos, whereas the current S60/V70 T5 starts at arround 260bhp with much more inbuilt capability.

I am sure you will get good advice based on the spec. that you are getting.

Allways worth checking www.volvoclub.org.uk

Hi,

I owned an 850 R estate for 5 years, the best car i have ever enjoyed driving. This is almost identical to the T5, the problem I had which is inherrant accross the 850 /V70 range is the ABS/TRACS CPU failure.
This manefests itself by displaying the ABS or TRACS light on the dash.
The ABS unit is about £2k, but if you push Volvo you can order the ECU only which is a 4 Allen bolt job and will take only 10 minutes to change. I went around the house with this fault, Volvo had my car for a week trying to diagnose this.... I eventually found the info from the Australian Bick Board, fitted the item and cured the fault.

With regards to tuning, there were companies offering 300 BHP and 450 NM of torque, but I recall that there are limits for an Auto box, the boost is backed off betwwen gear changes on an Auto to preserve the box limiting the the power.

I recently watched a stock T5 estate at Santa Pod run 15 second quarter... They are superb with standard output.

Good luck.
