GF Dad's car (from new) has had 3 in 3 years? Common fault or just bad luck, or garage fitting duff stock?

From my personal experience ...
I've had 2 S60 D5SE's now, one that covered circa 25,000 miles before I traded it in and my current car that is 3 1/2 years old with 103,000 miles on the clock.
Bought both from new and had no problems of any sort.

Cheers. I'm guessing there's something else going then. Google doesn't throw up any starter related issues either.

i had s60 t5, in 2 years got 100,000 miles on it, no problems

now got s60 d5 185 bhp, put in 20£ worth of petrol in it last week, drove it, then went kaputt, went to garage, drained it then now it works the same as before, got 81,000 miles on it in 2 years, and again been absolutely faultless, driven both cars to the max too ..your car must be a dodgy car!
