Just had my T5 ECU reflashed with the Rica software. What a big difference, not in just terms of overall power and torque but just the way the car now drives.
Got mine done by Charlwood Volvo in Horley, what a good outfit they are.
Certainly changed the way i drive it now.

I'm thinking of having mine done too soon. It depends what it needs doing at the next service whether I can afford to or not, but I am tempted by the RICA PPC when it gets launched.

It's odd - that never ending search for more power - when I got the car, it was the quickest thing I'd owned, and then you always find situations where you're wanting more.

If you get a good on [like mine ] they can be ferocious. Although I am not a flat out kind of person, my midrange is where it excels.

I'm with you on the PPC route. I'm assuming you can have a few settings - so standard, mega bhp or one for tootling around in traffic and having best mpg.

I'd have it set up at a garage though if it's not too expensive. I was going to use RT which is close, but may go up to Birmingham since they know the car from previous owner. (Mind, that's a few £££s spent on fuel so maybe not!)

I'm curious about other functions it might have. I heard the Bluefin device for Fords could immobilise the car completely to prevent it from being stolen.

If you were going away for a while and leaving the car, that type of function would be quite reassuring - it wouldn't matter even if they had the keys!

I can now report that after 700 miles my fuel consumption has increased, so now there is an added benefdit to having it re-mapped.

Anyone had a XC90 done? I've got the 2.4D 163bhp and interested as to the difference it would make?
