Can anyone tell me if a 1998 V70 2.5 se will have a steering wheel that adjusts for reach? Also, does the seat drop in height? I keep crossing cars off my buying list because they're seemingly designed for dwarfs!

thanks

Yes, adjustable up and down and back and forth, also the chair can be adjusted any way you desire. Excellent driving position in the v70, at least in the LHD but I guess it's the same in RHD too.

Thanks for your response. I guess the wheel adjustment is better than something like a Vectra, which has about two inches of movement in between 'too far away' and 'in the dashboard'?!

I don't know for sure, but it was never a problem for me. I'm 186cm and my better half is 170cm and we both had excellent driving positions, thanks to the fully adjustable seats/steeringwheel.

I am surprised that no-one said that the steering wheel is adjustable by turning either to the left or right?!?!?

For future reference to anyone searching this thread, I sat in a 1999 V reg V70 the other day at a Volvo dealer. The steering wheel does indeed adjust for reach, and the seat drops down so you can avoid the 'perched on the toilet reading a newspaper on the floor' driving position that most modern cars have. Very impressive. I'd like a bit more adjustment, but it was more than enough to get comfortable.
