Does anyone know if the oil is avalible from anyone other than Volvo,as they list it as a volvo special oil.Comma oils says their oil is approved for use by Volvo which is dextron 3,could do with changing it as the old girl has just passed 60K putting out 310bhp think it would be a good idea to change it.

Hi i would strongly recommend you only use the OE fluid it is expensive but so is a new gearbox !!
Every car we have ever carried out a full change/flush it makes a noted difference to gear change quality.

I would strongly recommend calling and speaking to Gavin Scott on 01529 307000. Anything that he does not know about oils isn't worth knowing about. More importantly, he will discuss with you and explain the reasons why a particular oil is appropriate for a given application and why some other oils are not.

I would not be overly concerned about the effects of the power output of your car will have on the transmission; more likely than not, the gearbox is not being as remotely stressed as much as you may think it is. I would think changing it is quite simply a good and prudent measure, as any form of servicing is.
