S60R - Noises on full turn from steering!?!
Discussion
Just bought a 2003 S60R from Volvo and I'm finding that when at full turn which is used quite a lot due to poor turning circle the car makes scraping/knocking noises when moving slowly. Is this normal? Is the wheel touching something or is it the suspension/steering adjusting? Any ideas thoughts?

From what I understand it will be the steering stops needing copper grease or the wishbone bushes are getting worn.
Thing is I just bought it from a main Volvo dealer who had done the usual used car checks, however I think they must have had it for a few months before I took it. Should they have checked this? Should I report it under my 1 year warranty or is it a wearing out issue so not covered?
Is it on 18s or 17s?
My T5 is on the BBS 18s and they scrap the inside of the wheel arch - they always have. I rang up the dealer after driving it home when I bought it to check. They said it was normal - the depth of the wheel arches are too small for 18s.
They also said it's because the car had the sports pack with a sports chassis so it sits lower.
I've also had the lock stops replaced too. They take quite a beating because of the awful turning circle. They could be making a bit of a noise.

Hi all you need to do is install a new pair of steering stops but pack them from behind with a few washers to space them out enough this will save your inner wheel arch guards.

Thanks guys. They are 18's and it sounds like as you describe. Any danger in leaving this job for a bit before I sort it. Is it just inner wheel arch guard damage I'm looking at + a bit of tyre wear? What should such a job cost?
