Hi All,

I'm a proud new owner of a 2000 C70 T5. Having been pointed at this forum by a TVR owner I almost read it in entirety before purchasing - so thanks everyone for the info and views you've previously posted - invaluable on the test drive.

A couple of questions -

1. Petrol on a standard C70 T5, should the Optimax (or equivalnet) always be used where possible, or is unleaded 95 ok for general tootling about?

2. How would I know if it's already had a RICA upgrade? Is there any way to check it out?

I'd expect the ECU to be clever enough to notice the cooking petrol in the tank and wind back the boost, but then that sort of defeats the object

2. How would I know if it's already had a RICA upgrade? I've purchased the car from a garage who have supplied the fVsh and receipts, but as the previous owner seemed an anorak (in a good way) I'm a little surprised there's no mention of this. Is there any way to check it out?

95 fuel is fine for your car, alhtough IF you have the RICA remap, then Optimax is the way to go! as the ECU will adjust itself accordingly to gain the most from your car.

RICA give a certificate to all owners of cars that have the Remap, (well they did when I`d had mine done) so if the previous owner had gone down that path and as you say was an (anorak) I would have thought he would have kept it, to validate his claim?

but as the other poster said give Adam @ Rica a call

Enjoy anyway they are great cars!
