love the s60 shape. There are a few cars on my wish list, but I'd always like to keep the volvo if I could. Although a 2006 model would be nice.

k321 - got any photos of yours? The one in your profile doesn't show up.
Are the 18s BBS split rims? If so did you get them with the sport pack?

my volvo has these wonderful 18inch bbs alloys,..i rarely have seen them on another volvo..my steprbrother had a v50 with 18 inch wheels but my wheels somehow look better, they are great and i love the s60 shape..i always turn my head and look at the car everytime i park it..i always valet the car and keep it spotless and strangers come up to me almost once a week if not more and compliment on my car..and its a volvo! lol

here is my car

signia i had a t-5 and my biggest regret was i didnt realise how fast it was until i sold it..the s60 d=5 185bhp..though is great..its quite flexible..i had both automatics..i recently saw the new s80 in london last weekend and it looked a lot like the s60..

i had the sport pack..with the aluminum well fake alumninum dash..the 18 inch wheels..a crap spoiler on the back ..

i rate the sat nav though..i dont have the screen in the dash but just i press this button near the speedo and it calls this a number to a call centre i say where i want to go then i get instructions down the phone..its great! also i m 27..and i look about 20 years old..every s60 i seen is driven by a grey haired old man! why is that>?
much better IMO than a sat nav with a screen

Pics don't seem to work

I got my S60 when I was 23, 26 now. So pleased with the T5 but always want more power

18s definitely make the car, and titanium grey is the best colour for it imo.
Get a lot of suspension noises, knocks etc due to the sports suspension so that needs sorting out soon. Local dealer couldn't work them out so will be using a specialist from now on.

I've never had any comments, but my wife has several times from other blokes when she parks up. Typical!

Got the geartronic box, which apparently is better to control the T5 than the manual. Drove an older v70 T5 in manual and 1st gear was too quick to make any use from - couldn't change in time! I'm sure the auto is quicker in reality.

its good to know there is someone else in the 20's driving a s60
i had the s60 t=5 se when i was 23 , a great car and in 2 years i clocked up 110,000 miles in it, i got it for 22k though and sold it for 6k!
i had also dented the offside rear passenger door though in a car park,

i think the geartronic is good with both the d5 (185) and the t-5, i managed to get 0-60 out of the t-5 at 6.2 seconds
the d5 i manage to get 7.4 so its not that slower but whereas i got 24mpg with the t-5, i always seem to get 38mpg with the d5

have been tempted by a D5 because of my 20mpg, but I don't do many miles. Got car at 6k and it's only done 30k now.

Got a bit of history too - was in six episodes of Taggart with blue lights etc

heh I wish

not I got it when it had only done 6k (miles) and now has done 30k.

I got it a year old in Mar04 for 22k (uks) it's an 03 plate.

Mine's got the toys except sat nav and xenons. Not worried about the sat nav, but wouldn't mind xenons - the wife's Focus has them and they're great.

eta-> it's an SE with winter and sport packs. So it has the lowered "dynamic" chassis(read as "loud, hard and knocking", 18in BBS, but no spoiler (only an option back then).

Some shots of mine here. www.pbase.com/signia/s60

screen shot of mine in Taggart!

Volvo Xenon's aren't great (not a patch on BMW's!) and the Sat Nav is hopeless! Comfy seats though! LOL

For me, it's the only car I've ever got 100% comfortable driving position in - the seats are fantastic.

I would go for Xenons next time though. Got to be better than driving by candle light.

The Xenon's are funny actually, as they were very good on my 03 S60R but poor on my 05 V70. Would have thought it would be the same unit?

In fact, I now have an XC90 with some Silverstar bulbs and that isn't far short of the V70!

smartie i diagree, though i think you have my ideal car the R version..is it way faster than the t-5? and is the 4x4 any good as i read in car magazines that they didnt rate it that much
my s60 sat nav is superb, it has no screen but i press this button near the speedo and it calls a callcentre,i speak to a real person say where i want to go, then they relay the info back to me, avoiding traffic, and they even tell me what time i will be there, its never failed me at all!i dont know the specific name for my system

and i think the xenons are amazing, i can see for miles, much better than on any car i have driven and i drove a 525d bmw 2006 model this year

though i would say the bmw was better than the volvo in every single aspect apart from the looks and price

smartie, what are silver star bulbs?

at least the volvo forum is hotting up now!signia great car and colour! i got the facelifted version in black

that would be my second choice

On paper, the R is only a second or so quicker than the T5. I'd swop for 4wd any day - I go through too many front tyres!.O

I read on vpcuk website that there were some problems with the driveshaft or the diff over time which can be quite costly.

Oddly though, the auto/GT version of the R is claimed to be even slower than the T5 - 7.5s I think.(I've heard it has reduced power), whilst auto/GT T5 is no different to the manual in the performance stats - both 6.9s (for the 2.3 up to '05 model).

As you can tell, I've umm'd and ahh'd over changing to an R quite a bit!

signia, i can tell..the R version though has 300bhp, it must go pretty fast though i think the s60 is not so great round corners, the fwd version . i have these damper settings but i always leave it in Sport mode, as in Comfort mode i cant feel the front tyres, and the ride is really wallowy, i think they made it this way on purpose, as if the car is floating across the road but i think its really unsafe!

do you have those settings in your t5 signia>?
