Tuning a 940SE Turbo

Hey guys, my friend has just managed to buy a mint example 1992 940SE Turbo 2.3 Saloon and loves the way she goes (like a rocket) and hes thinking of investing money over the course of a couple of years to try and build a more powerfull engine.

Nothing chavvy, hes looking at keeping all bodywork standard, improvng the handling with stiffer springs & uprated shocks. Buying some lightweight alloy wheels (around 16"

Currently its pushing out 165bhp at the back wheels and around 230lbs of torque, but he would like more.

Does anyone have any suggestions, advice, links or previous experiences they could share?
