440 Remote central locking

I've got a 440 which was sitting round for a long time with a dead battery & now the remote central locking doesn't work.

I've fitted new battery to the car & fob, but they don't talk to eachother, so I presume they need re-syncing.

Is there an easy sync process or is this a dealer job ?
