XC90 - Turning off the 'safety aids'

Hi all - we've just bought a 24 plate XC90 - stunning car but we wanted to check if there was a way to permanently turn off a couple of the annoying safety aids;
Lane keep assist - can be turned off start of every journey but a faff to go through the sub menus
Speed limit warning - seems this can be either a constant bong the moment you go 1mph over the limit, or it holds back the accelerator when you approach the limit which is even more annoying. Can this be shut off at all?

Thankfully on my car it's a quick press of a steering wheel button and off they go, but you have to do it every time you get in the car.
Must admit, I'm surprised you didn't know about this, believe it's been all new cars for a good few years now.

2020 Volvo S60 - one press and the aids stay off permanently
2014 Evoque (this has just been replaced by the XC90) so didn't have these annoyances.
TBH they're not a huge problem, I was just hoping for a way to turn them off and keep them off.
I too have several recent experiences.
2015 Volvo V40 - nothing but ABS/DSC & city braking, never a problem.
2011 Volvo V50 - Same.
2011 Mazda 2 - Same.
2018 Mazda 2 - Has the lot but one press & lane assist stays off forever.
Several recent hire cars (post 2020) - Every time you torn the car on you need to turn the crap off.
They default to on...... Because, safety!
2015 Volvo V40 - nothing but ABS/DSC & city braking, never a problem.

2018 Mazda 2 - Has the lot but one press & lane assist stays off forever.

These are EU regulations on new cars that require these things to default to on for each journey. Soon all new cars will have driver monitoring and beep at you if you aren't looking at the road ahead.
The speed limit assist can be switched off by simply pressing the left button on the left cluster of steering wheel buttons. A confirmation will appear at the bottom of the driver display. You can also permanently change how it operates in the Driving settings, and uncheck the option for dynamic speed assist (ie it will never reduce your speed, just beep at you, and you can turn that off each journey).
Lane Assist can also be set to vibrate only and not provide steering input, it's also in the Driving settings. Then when it does default to on each time, it will just be a mild vibration through the steering wheel.
I have these in my 2024 V90 and it's just part of my routine now, start the car, press the left button and get on and drive.

Most of the aids in the Volvo work spot on, so I’d suggest no need to turn them off.
The speed bong however, now that’s annoying!

As others have mentioned, due to legislation you do need to do it every restart, but quite a neat painless process, and as painless as they could have made it.
