Volvo S90 or S60 (T6 or T8)
Discussion
Hi,
I'm thinking of getting an S90 or S60 in either T6 or T8 flavour probably 2020 to 2022, depending on what I can find.
Are they a good buy? Any inherent faults to be aware of?
I've heards parts can be a touch on the pricey side - is that correct?
Any real world exeperience of them?
Thanks.

I can't talk about the T8 powertrain. But I did have an S90 (diesel) and had a lengthy loan of a V90 with the T6 engine.
S90? Mine was Inscription Pro and was a palace. Mine was on 20" wheels and they were a bit harsh, even on non Sport suspension. Amazing materials inside, the comfiest seats in the world - a genuinely great car.
T6? Fast(ish) and thirsty. The Turbo + Supercharger setup sounded great and knew how to pick its skirts up, but was low 30s mpg on a cruise.

I've had a V90 Cross Country for four years/60k miles and it's been a good car. T5 petrol engine is ok, responsive enough without being rapid. T6 is likely a better fit for the size of car.
Ride is ok if a bit agricultural at times due to the torsion bar damping the rear axle. I think air suspension all round is available on some models as an option.
Interior is a strong point with excellent seats and good quality leather. Did a four hour, 250 mile run home from Manchester recently without stopping as well as a roundtrip from Glasgow to Windsor and the cabin is a pleasant place to be.
Never been an issue connecting a variety of Apple and Android devices via Bluetooth. If you want CarPlay or Android Auto make sure the car has two USBs in the centre console. Ours only has one and therefore doesn't.
I'd avoid Momentum trim; R Design as a minimum, although I think Inscription just looks classier.
Parts availability is good and plenty of non-Volvo options. Needed a new tailgate lifter and what would be £400 for one from Volvo became £120 for two from a breaker.
Can be prone to some electrical gremlins which present as white noise from the audio whether it's an indicator or music. Also the indicator can sound out of sync at times. A dealer software update seemed to resolve the former but not the latter.
Some satnavs seemed to not know where they were but again dealer updates should have resolved this.
The centre touchscreen can be a bit slow to respond but this a feature, not a bug.
It's carried two big dogs in the boot, done countless tip runs and moved the family in relative comfort. And a couple of times in heavy snow, the AWD paired with CrossClimate tyres has kept us going when everyone else was stuck.

Looking at a petrol only car now unfortunately and probably the v90.
I've read about the erad issue on the t8s and I don't fancy having that issue!
The ERAD is the same between the T6 and T8 though, right?Looking at a petrol only car now unfortunately and probably the v90.
