XC40 T5 Recharge (plug in) fuel economy
Discussion
I've had my 2021 Inscription for 10 months. It mostly gets used for short journeys on battery power.
Today I did a 75 mile round trip, starting with a full battery - 24 miles range.
I used the "battery hold" feature on the faster A roads, reserving the battery for the slow bits. I kept up with the traffic, and did a few overtakes.
I got home with 1 mile of battery range left, and the trip computer saying 76.7 mpg.
Bit of maths suggests that I used 1.02 gallons to cover 52 miles running on petrol and regen battery power, and 23 miles on pure battery.
That's a shade over 50mpg running on petrol.
Pretty impressive, and a fair bit more than I got driving a similar size Sportage diesel a few years ago.
