What would a Volvo 740 look like as a SUV?

Following on from the thread about the ugly new SUV from Alfa Romeo... when I look at modern SUV designs I can't help noticing a massive slab of extra bodywork added to the middle.

Quite like that looks like the canyanero marge had form the Simpsons.

Not a very flattering picture of mine but I thought Volvo did a good job with the suv. New ones even more so.

I tried getting a 740 SUV in Bing AI but it thinks all Volvo estates are a 240

It looks quite a lot like the actual car Volvo made, the XC90.

My point is nearly all of those SUVs we're seeing now have that big slab of extra bodywork between the door handles and the rubbing strips and it looks ridiculous. Maybe it's room for batteries?

Had another go at Bing AI, and it's better at making a 1990s XC90. Although it does pretty much look like a Jeep Cherokee with a Volvo nose

Weird mix of parts. The under bumper area looks like Range Rover and the headlamps look like Volvo 240.
