Hi All,

Currently in the market for a second gen XC90 & leaning towards either the T6 or T8.

Similar age/mileage cars can be purchased for similar money around the £30k mark. We are SW London based, won’t be doing much mileage & intend on the car being a long term keeper.

Assuming purchase cost is pretty similar,
are there any strengths, weaknesses, considerations associated with the T6 vs T8?

Appreciate all input.

I have a 2017 T8 since 2020 - v. happy. However, EV charger failed in 2023 - £1,700 repair was covered by my 3rd party warranty. No other issues.

Mine does not have air springs, they are something that can go wrong I hear repairs can get expensive, T8 or T6 can have this option.

More things to go wrong in T8 PHEV however if you are doing lots of local hops under 20 miles, and have a charging point at home [3 pin plug will do] you can get most of your local hops on EV only.

Short local trips will be low 20's to teens MPG in T6 or a T8 with no battery charge.

I've loved my T8 and do tons of local EV only miles, requires a gentle foot to achieve but saves ££.
