Looking at buying a C30 petrol but apparently this car comes with a misfire. Any thoughts as to cause, is this a known issue? I assume it must be more than just HT leads otherwise the seller wouid have fixed it.

Needs a bit more info to diagnose the issue. What engine, constant or intermittent problem, does it happen from start up, or only when engine is warm etc etc.

I’ve got a C30 T5, it developed a slight misfire issue, but it didn’t happen all the time, and was no rhyme or reason as to when it happened.

Turned out to be a fuel rail pressure regulator/sensor, from memory wasn’t an expensive or complicated fix.
Warning light that came up on the dash was a generic “engine fault” and needed diagnostics to pin point the error.

IIRC the 1.8 (and 2.0) are Ford/Mazda Zetec engines.
There are no HT leads, as they have coil-packs immediately above each plug.
You need to diagnose which cylinder is causing problems (there should be a fault code stored to state which), and start by replacing the coil-pack.
