I'm not sure you'd get 3 standard car seats across an XC90, so doubt you would a V90?

You could use the third row in an XC90, but it would depend on how old the child is, as not all seats sit well on those.

(I'm not an SUV fan...but XC90 are fantastic family cars).

You can get special seats to take more kids : https://www.multimac.com/home (e.g. https://www.multimac.com/p/superclub_3_seater_1200...

They aren't cheap, but as per the second link, open up a world of options in terms of the cars you can use...which would likely offset the cost to a great degree, and I would think they have decent second hand value.

Thank you.

Yes I've seen multimac recommended a number of times.

I suspect may not be viable for a 4 series as quite tight in the back but on a V90 likely OK.

That said a concern I had with the multimac was potential damage to the leather. Have read reports of harsh indentation on the seat due to the weight etc.

Thanks again. Will continue my research :-)
I get indentations with std kids' seats tbh, even when using protective mats.

The multimac site shows their products in the back of what look like A4 cabriolets, so would have thought they'll go in a 4-series (maybe not a three door though).

We have a V90 and a Passat estate. We have two kids car seats in the back with the middle seat free (and long may it remain so!). I think there's more space between our two seats in the Passat than the V90. There's definitely more leg room in the Passat and it has a bigger boot.

The Volvo is a lovely place to be though. Very comfortable, high quality interior and all the bells and whistles.
