Noticed a few days ago the powered boot will not close properly but never thought much about it until last night.

The boot will not open when pressing the button on the boot lid. Pressing the button on the key fob and the inside the car also doesn’t do anything.

The boot is currently stuck in mid lock position. It’s almost locked but not fully locked. I cannot push it down further to lock and also cannot fully open it. The strange thing is that after a while the boot will open on its own. I’ve tried manually closing the boot by slamming it down, but after while it either opens again or gets stuck in the mid lock position.

Booked it in to get it checked at local garage hut wondering if there is anything I can do till then. Has anyone came across same issue? I suspect the lock actuator is damaged.

Car has not been driven far lately so I am now hooking it up to battery conditioner in case low battery is causing this issue.

If all fails I am thinking of pulling a fuse to avoid the boot opening on its own, but struggle to find the correct fuse and not sure if doing this will prevent the car from being locked.

I’ve got a mate that scanned the OBD port and found the error in the CEM module. It seems to point to the boot actuator.

Error code is B10C524

It always recommended 2 parts which I can’t find anywhere.
Can anyone please advise?

My mate helped me to strip the boot to have a look, and we’ve pinned the issue down the boot lid switch ( part number 31416491)
The contacts on the switch is damaged and it’s not sending the correct signal to the boot lock actuator to unlock or lock properly. Manually connecting and reconnecting this switch will trigger the correct lock and unlocking process.

Had a quick Google and genuine parts seems expensive for what is a small part… around £160…
