Hi all,

I've just discovered a massive flaw in my 20 plate XC60!

It has rolling covers on the small compartments in the centre console, and it turns out that if you put a debit card without embossed numbers on it, it can easily slide forward and down the gap at the top of the cover!!!

Does anyone know if there's any easy way to recover the thing whilst on holiday that won't require oodles of tools and time to take the car apart???

This is the same on most cars with that type of thing. I've found loads of things when taking cars apart to fit cameras or clean them.

All depends on what is behind that space but they are usually secured by an extension piece between the dash and tunnel so will need some tools to get in to.

Yeah, doesn't look accessible without them!

Surely it shouldn't be difficult to prevent it!

I haven't carried a wallet in years! hehe

I've not used cash in I can't remember how long either, but there are some places in rural France that still don't take cards. Normally, I work on the assumption that two different cards in Google Pay and my watch as backup to my phone will cover all bases, and in 99.99% of cases it does.
