C30 - options for music streaming
Discussion
Hi all
I have basically been pretty well given a 2009 C30 S 1.6D, registered just prior to the facelift (November 2009, 59 plate) which means I can sell my Alfa 159 which I hate seeing sat under a tree.
Apart from the utterly mingingly ugly wheels (you know "those ones" ) the car is all in good nick, however the only thing where I'm a bit stuck is the sound system and the "waterfall" dash. Given this is the base model (no satnav, fancy amps) does anyone know how I can stream my choons etc to this - there's an extremely expensive (but crap) Android solution I've seen, plus something called a Grom which looks vaguely ok but needs a dealer to code security out.
Does anyone know if these things have standard ISO plugs on the head unit - I have a Parrot bluetooth/streaming CK9200 (?) from an old car I could put in there in the event that this is the case.
Any other suggestions?

Pretty much the only way to do what you are saying is to use a "Pure Highway 400/600" (IIRC) or similar to input into the aux or via its built in FM modulator into an unused FM channel.
That way you get DAB/Bluetooth & hands free.
I have one of these in my XC90, and it works well. Supports the C30 also:

You better not be slagging off the Libra alloys!!
Er ... yes I was. I actually ended up giving the car back; by the time I'd replaced the wheels (and stuck tyres on), fixed the AC, fitted a towbar and a few other bits it wasn't actually saving me that much cash at all, and the clutch pedal kept sticking down which looked very much like a slave cylinder issue. And the paint was in a proper state. I was basically giving up my rather lovely Alfa 159 for it so it just made no sense - total brainfart.
The owner did get it back with a quite simple bluetooth solution - a little 12v -> USB converter (usually I use these to hardwire dashcams) with a "Egreen" bluetooth receiver hidden under the armrest console with the 3.5mm stereo cable plugged into the aux under the armrest. Cost about 8 quid.
Anyway - back in my lovely Alfa now What was I thinking?
And those alloys.....
Hvae a look on Amazon, my wife has a small transmitter that plugs into the cigar lighter, streams music to radio, you set your own fequency and tune the volvo radio to it, it also gives hands free and charges her phone. About 15 quid if I remember.

if you search for that, its very similar. Works perfectly, shes used it for about three years with no issues at all, she uses it for Spotify.
