Volvo V90/960 3.0 any good?

I have tyhe chance of a Volvbo 960/V90 with the 3lt engine, auto estate
Just wondered if anyone has any experience of these?

Had a limo with this engine and thought it was very nice. Went well despite the extra weight of the limo and it seemed pretty economical (considering). Have seen a few advertised needing a HG in the past, which is maybe something to check

Had a manual one for a short while about 6 year ago. I'd been into the 940 Estates for a while (still am) and bought the 960 unseen off ebay. Drove nicely, slightly more modern interior to the 940, lot of parts we not interchangeable (lights/interior fittings/handbrake cable IIRC etc) so sourcing s/h more difficult but I moved it on quite quickly as the underside was coated in surface rust unlike the 940 I replaced it with.
