Hi,
Does this plaque show my paint code? The word paint came up so many times in a search on the pdf manual I gave up looking but the pictures I found on the net suggests a plaque should be on the passenger side of the engine bay and driver side rear door however it found none. I eventually found an image of a plaque noting weight and the nearest thing I could think of was this on the drivers door.
Nothing in the engine bay or trunk, just info on the cambelt change, and oil types.

Can anyone explain the Eco part on the label, if I want to drive more economically do I therefore have to pump up the pressure to 38? Are all tyres to the specs it gives of their size, happy for this? I presume I lose some grip? Thanks in advance
You pump them up to reduce rolling resistance, therefore lose less power turning the wheels, yes you will lose some grip by definition.IAmTheWalrus said:

You are looking for a 3 digit number (likely 477 apparently) on a plate which is normally by the top of one of the strut towers, on the engine bay rear bulkhead or adjacent to the radiator.Does this plaque show my paint code? Well I'm not sure where to begin, the strut towers (you mean above the wheels right?) don't appear easily visible? E-bmw said:
As is unfortunately the case with many modern cars the manufacturers like to hide the "engineering" from us, so there may be the need to remove a cover or 2, but it will be somewhere near there.
Yeah, I'll give it a go at the weekend, cheers everyone. I'll let you know how I got on. I finally found the paint code, some how I had missed it when looking around the car, instead of being at the bottom of the door on the rear drivers side it was half way up the column that goes between the back seat and front, I don't know how I missed that, I guess I was expecting it on the bottom. As Homer Simpson would say Doh'.
Anyway, it says 426 26 on the bottom right of the label, upon looking to find a paint on Ebay I get a seller like this who has 426 listed twice,
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/333415826596?hash=item4...
They have silver metallic and mystic silver as descriptions for the same number selection for 426?
It might just be their mistake, this says its got all three words int he description for 426

Anyway I sent them an email.
