As a potential D4 V60 owner does anyone know if the well documented D4 DEA engine troubles with egr / cooler have been sorted for later cars ?

Specifically an early 2017 car, apparently has full Volvo history but a non franchise dealer so difficult to check what work has been carried out. Many Thanks in advance.

Don't mean to sound picky but how can both of those statements be true?

The EGR problem was the subject of an official recall action, so it will show up on the Government recall website.

https://www.check-vehicle-recalls.service.gov.uk/recall-type

Whilst you are there the other thing to check is whether the recall for seatbelt buckle wear is applicable and was performed.

I ran one for 35,000 trouble free miles. Can be fairly economical. I averaged just under 50 mpg over 35,000 miles. If I recall correctly the EGR issues mainly applied to the earlier cars.

Helpful - Thanks.
Much of the chatter seemed to be around the early ones as you say, just wanting some reassurance before I take the plunge.

Sorry to drag up and old thread.

What do you class as an earlier car? - which years were problematic?

Thanks.
