V50 gear selection

Just a little advice sought here, copied from the "home Mechanics" section in case there is more detailed information in this area.

Aside of the obvious (which I haven't had the chance to look at yet) bushes on gear selectors, is there a known specific issue to prevent the selection of 2nd (only going down) as it is virtually impossible to do it in my new (to me) V50 1.6d drivE.

The focus has a similar sounding problem. It’s normally third on the focus and it’s a issue with the “selector box” just under the gear stick. The focus of that age and v50 are very similar.

Thanks for that, yes, they are based on the one shared platform design, along with the s40 & c30.
