V70 D5 bad smoking habit
Discussion
Hi all I am looking for some help please.
I have a 2003 V70 D5 that feels lumpy and has got a bad smoking habit.
If I read the codes I get an 0244 error which is a turbo control valve error. Apparently these bung up but mine is clean as a whistle. I understand the engine mounts can cause this fault code as well but they seem OK as if I disconnect the vacuum pipe for these and block it the code persists.
Do the control valves fail electricly or should I be looking else where?
Cheers

From memory, PO0244 is a pretty generic turbo control / boost / vacuum related fault code and thus can be triggered by numerous different elements (or all of them!) and there's extensive threads on the matter covering most of the usual suspects. Also, SiRobb on YouTube has a very good step by step guide to basic D5 fault finding and preventative maintenance that'd be worth a look. You may also find the likes of Vida or something equally capable would be a good idea to further check the code / check live data etc. As said, PO0244 is a very generic code that covers a broad range of possible culprits but they are prone for boost leaks / vacuum leaks. SiRobb is your go to guy.
