Hi,

I'm not familiar with my new cars vent system so was just wondering, if I turn the temp dial to the lowest on the passenger side, will the air get warmer any sooner on the drivers side? Will it direct any more warm air since warmth wont presumably be shared by both sides? Thanks in advance.

That era of S80 will have dual zone plus dual temp controls... so you can vary the heat settings between the passenger and driver side. I've had this on several cars for several years and not once have the temperatures left to right every been different. It's a car you're heating, not a decent sized castle so even with one side at 16degs and the other at 28degs, the differences will be almost non existent.

It's all in the manual...

gwe were trying to work out if we got the front on full heat and the rear on full a/c we could get a cloud to form just above the centre console

Whoa. I was taking a driving lesson once and the instructor played with the environmental controls and before I knew it the entire front windscreen fogged up in like 5 seconds flat, he was like "ducking hell" (he was a tad unprofessional - once referred to a van that was going into a gypsy park with no working rear brake lights as a "two'finger job" apparently encouraging road rage lol...
