I have a 2009 V70 which will be stored for a while. I've removed the battery, because there's no power where the car's being stored, so I'll be keeping that elsewhere.

I can't lock the boot without power, though. Any ideas?

Lock the car, remove the battery then manually lock the driver's door as you leave?

Tried that.

The trouble is thst if you remove the battery when the car's locked, the alarm goes off.

With only the tailgate open, lock the car with the fob and this will lock the doors and pre lock the tailgate.
Remove battery and close the tailgate then the car is secure.

When the battery is recharged and ready to go back in the car, you would then use your jump leads in the bay method to unlock the tailgate with the remote.

Thank you. Why would I need to get into the boot with jump leads? Why can't I just reinstall the battery and then use the central locking?

Doesn't work. As above, if you try to remove the battery with the doors locked (and therefore the alarm armed), the alarm goes off.

Hmm, worked on mine.
Depends if you want the alarm to work.
Can you not use the same method but manually lock the car with the key instead of the fob?
Does that lock the car but not arm the alarm? I thought it did but could well be wrong.

The only bit of the alarm you can deactivate is the interior motion sensor.

I can't lock the doors with the boot open because the doors won't lock with the boot open. Or with any door open.

If I lock the car with the key not the fob, it only locks the driver's door.

If I lock the doors with the fob and then use the key to unlock the driver's door, the alarm remains armed.

If I then open the drivers door, all the other doors unlock. Including the tailgate.

It's bloody stupid.

Take the boot panel off, shut the boot, disconnect the power source to it.

Can't. If I did, the boot wouldn't be locked. If I lock the boot, the alarm is set, and disconnecting the power to the lock will trigger the alarm.
