v40 T2 2.0 acceleration - is this normal

OH recently bought a 17 plate v40, and reports the engine light came on briefly for a couple of minutes, and went off again, and car maybe feels a bit sluggish.

I checked codes and nothing pending or recorded. If it was something serious presumably a code would be present no? What would cause it just for 2 mins?

Took for a spin. Feels okay with some revs, but anything below 2.5k revs feels a bit slow to get going. But I haven't driven an ICE in ages so not well placed to judge. If it wasn't for the light, I'd say it was probably normal, but now I'm wondering.

It's booked in but any advance insight appreciated.
