Volvo DICE query

Evening all

I bought a DICE unit from a seller on eBay (new). When I plug in to the ODBII port and switch ignition to position II, nothing happens. Start the car, still nothing, no led lights at all on the DICE unit. Have tried on a V70 P1 and P3, same.

I have tried it with and without it being plugged into USB on laptop (I think DICE power comes from ODBII but tried it with the laptop anyway). Needless to say I cannot get VIDA to communicate with the unit.

Can anyone confirm for me - should I see some LED activity when plugged into a powered ODBII? Think my DICE is faulty but would like to confirm before returning to seller.

I’ll try in the morning. I too bought one off eBay last year. Software was a pig.... raining now but I’ll see what happens tomorrow for you when I plug mine in.

Actually I was just being lazy....
When first plugged in without the key in ignition all the lights flashed. Like a self test.
After that the Firmware green flashed quickly and the vehicle interface status flashed orange

Putting the key into the ignition in I , II or III with engine running didn’t make any difference to the lights!!

Looks like something may be wrong with yours.... anywhere near Bristol or Bath. Need to borrow mine?

Hi thanks so much for that, appreciated.....looks like my unit is faulty as suspected and seller is not playing ball, has offered me £10 back and suggested I sell it to someone else

I am in Portsmouth but thanks for the offer of borrowing yours. I have got the software up and running I think.....just need a working DICE.

I have an error with the dstc system which causes it to go I to limp mode when you are pulling away from startup. After a few moments you get the abs light and dstc failure message, it then comes out of limp mode. Seems to be an abs ring, abs sensor or a wheel bearing from what I can read on the forums, just wanted vida to tell me which wheel to look at.
