Evening all,

Been eyeing up a new motor. Been looking at bmw e61s, test drove a v50 and wasn’t quite for me. Seen a V60 T6 today locally. Like the look of them. Partner has a xc60 and must say it’s a comfy car and I enjoy being in it.

Heard it’s a good engine. What sort of performance to people get for it and how’s MPG on them? I’m not a driver who goes for long drives, hence why I want a petrol and not a diesel.

Also is there a decent Volvo vin decoder too?

Cheers.

Got the T6 motor in our V60 Polestar. Standard performance is good around the 300 mark I think. There are quite a few bolts on that can get it up a fair bit. Engine is fairly bullet proof and has cam chain so no belts to change.
Now Fuel mmmm as its used for short school run or me out for a Play. Get about 20mpg. On a run it will do 28/30mpg. But mine has had some work so up near the 400bhp region.

Reckon it will be better on fuel than a 2002 auto E39 530i BMW? Haha

My school run isn’t stop start... more country roads. And my commute to work is through a village and country road. I don’t do many long drives.

I do want something that’s comfy to drive, and I know the Volvo has comfy seats. I liked the v50 r design seats which seemed to be a suede type.

And do they have heated front windscreen? My wife’s xc60 has a winter pack. Which included that and heated seats. The car I seen has heated seats, so would like to assume they’re on a winter pack. If so, bonus.

Ours has heated Screen so they do have them. The seats are the most comfortable I've sat in. The Car puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it.

Good to know on the seats, the facelift xc60 seats in my wife’s car are comfy.

I’ve compared official figures and the mpg is a couple miles better than my old e39 530i.

Still awaiting on insurance quote from Chris Knott, hard to get one as the car isn’t registered over here yet.

How have you found the reliability of the car?

Touch wood not one problem. Use decent oil and genuine plugs. Runs great. Easier to change rear discs and pads with ODB tool. Other than that it's spot on

Ah fair play that’s decent then. Just waiting to clear up some info on road tax and insurance. Do like the car. 330bhp is 100bhp than what I’ve been used to.

Just hope it won’t cost me too much to run. Like if I can get similar mpg to the bmw it will be okay. I can have a heavy right foot at times.
