Hi guys, thinking of buying a petrol one of these as do quite a lot of short journeys on school runs etc. But how bad is the mpg on both short and long journeys? On short journeys I’m not that bothered but a long motorway journey I don’t want it to be too bad. Price wise there doesn’t seem to be much difference in cost,
Cheers

It's not great, but if you aren't doing that many miles, does it really matter in the grand scheme? My T5 CC averaged 31 over 8k miles, but in town it would drop to 25 or so. On a run you could get 40 as long as you kept it at 70.

To be honest, my V8 Camaro does almost as good (I'm not joking).

They are a nice car for long trips though. Bit too big for town use. My ex lease one is for sale at a Volvo dealer in Oxford for £27490.

I've got a T5 CC which has done 15k miles over the last year. Around town it drops to high 20's (I don't do much town driving!) and on a run it will achieve somewhere between 30 and 33 (I tend to not hang around so no driving Miss Daisy!!). driving

It's a good car, but could do with another 2 cylinders for a bit more relaxing grunt!

They're nicely specced, but then the retail on mine was apparently £49.6k which seems like a lot, and would hurt if you were selling as per the post above!!

Thanks, I’m thinking one of the Volvo Ocean Race petrol engined cars. Not too bothered about around town as like you say not much difference between low 20s and low 30s in the grand scheme of things. But if in long journeys you are still at low 30s then I can live with that.

Cheers

Agree with others as above. Economy did seem to improve around the 10,000 mile mark. Mainly A road driving gives me 35 mpg average.

Much difference in mpg between T5 and T6?
