Hello
Is there anyone that can help me with a VIDA install please. I’m pretty smart with IT, been in the industry for 25 years but this software is driving me nuts.
eBay special
2 DVDs contents copied to windows 10
Unpacked/zipped
Loads of Msi and exe flies which will run installers. I get to the end and it declares
Security OK
.net 3.5 OK
VIDA Not Ok

I’ve found various walk throughs on the internet where I need to install java and sql express and sp2. All done but no luck.

I see the win 7 pro should be used so that may be my problem, but I’m running these in win 7 compatibility mode on win 10. It appears to run through ok but not successful

There was a smaller application that just created the comms via USB to the car and that works fine... commas is ok but I need to look at some errors. Seller isn’t helping.... thank you

Needs to be Windows 7 from my understanding. I believe a VM in VirtualBox or Workstation also copes if you use USB redirection.

Thought as much. I did go over the Father In Laws last night who left his Windows 7 laptop in the garage for me. That fails too, possibly because its Home rather than Pro. I have a desk full of IT Tools at work including 7 Pro but We are not allowed back into the Office......

So it will have to wait! Thank you

Not allowed back to work so I’ve ordered a Windows 7 pro DVD from China. Complete with licence key!

Its worth knowing there are Virtualbox images of Vida available that are a helluva lot easier to manage than trying to install it yourself.

Have a look on the swedespeed forum....

Thank you. I finally managed to get it going. Popped in a new hard disk and put on Windows 7 pro so I knew there was nothing else on the machine. Just started from scratch and had a few problems with sql and a database that was on the DVD. Unpacked it and managed to get it going. Cleared one fault which didn’t come back but now have an issue with the Haldex. Changed the fuse as it claims no power. Luckily the car is off the ground enough to work under neath it. Limited what i can do though given my knowledge. I did get this to help get it through the MOT in April but now have the 6th month extension so I’ll see what I can do when the garages are open again. Thanks for the advice.
