Colour palette
Discussion
Looking at changing my current XC90 in for the hybrid version. Does any one else find the colour palette a little boring?
One solid colour - white
5 metallic greys - £700 each
silver, black or blue - £700 each
brown - £700 each
'crystal' white - £1,000 option
Current preference:
Or maybe go silver with a brown leather interior.
Or change to a R-Design model and that gives another £1,000 option in Bursting Blue:
I'd have liked a nice dark red to maybe choose from

They've taken a step back on colours and a number of aesthetic options in the last couple of years IMO.
Inside I don't think you can get the same inlays as you used to be able too either.
FWIW I think they look great in the metallic brown. Other half not so convinced. We ended up with Amber Black (I think it was called) a few years ago and it looks great - has a brown sheen in the sun, which is more often than you'd think.
Not a fan of the blues. The darker one was OK, but the brighter ones don't suit the shape IMO.
Silver with a brown interior would be good. If a bit staid outside. Our mk1 was Saville Grey which I think you can still get and suits cars of this size.
Wheel choices are all a bit meh these days, all roofbars are "integrated" now (which I don't prefer) and I don't like the squarer exhaust shrouds (ours is an up-spec'd Momentum...couldn't repeat the look of it these days and really like the way ours looks).
Have you looked closely into the efficiency of the car? Or is it a company car that you'll get breaks on? Everything I've read suggests you're better off without the hybrid. It certainly didn't stack up economically when we bought.
For all these reasons we'll run ours a good while longer as we did with the mk1 we had (100k miles at least). At which point the full electric version should be out and we can see what we want to do.
Have been tempted to get a Taycan through the company...but whilst the savings look great, it still a chunk of cash to drop on a car that I don't really need. As electric cars go though...

It's currently my own personal car but since getting it I have set up my own company. My accountant is saying that there is not much in it between having it as a company car vs. a personal lease so will have a chat with the garage and see what they can come up with.
We're also going to look at ordering an XC40 Recharge (full electric) ready for delivery in 12 months time for my co-director
Top three colour choices for me at the moment are maple brown, crystal white and one of the greys (name escapes me).

Ended up going with 'Birch Silver' (as that was a colour that was in the 'network' (well at the docks).
