DPF filter woes?

Hi all,

My 2013 V40 failed it's MOT the other day due to the DPF filter being blocked. No light on the dashboard or anything.
This is my first car, I've had it through uni so I'd been regularly doing 20-30 mile journeys which would keep it regenerating. There have been some smaller journeys which has obviously blocked it up as well.

I guess my question is, what is roughly the average journey length in miles that allows for DPF regeneration?

You need to get it on VIDA/DICE to see the amount of soot in the filter. 20+ mins at 3K is a rough guide to trigger DPF regen.

Do you have any error on the dash? I find it hard to believe it would be blocked with no pre - emptive error message - do you trust the garage?
