2013 Volvo XC60
Discussion
Morning all.
We have a Volvo XC60, with 85k. We are having trouble with the boot lid releasing, the lifting mechanism is still fine. It won't release with the tailgate handle, it releases on the key and the button on the dash. Can anyone suggest anything?
We are also having problems with the rear parking camera , it's packed up. Volvo said it needs a new one and will cost £500 To replace. I would grateful for any recommendations of a auto electrical company in the Oxford area.
Many thanks for your help
Philip

As both the reversing camera and boot release button are in the same handle assembly on the tailgate I'd bet both issues are related and either a problem of water ingress into the handle assembly, or more likely the wires are damaged where they pass through the tailgate hinge area.
Any faults with your rear screen wiper, demister or number plate lights too?
For the latter issue there is likely a convoluted rubber tube between the top of the tailgate and the roof of the car, that you should be able to pull out from the body at one end and inspect the wires within it. I'll have a look to see what there is on my XC60 later and report back.

Thanks for your reply, I didn't realise that the boot release switch and camera could be connected. No problems with the lights, wiper and demiater,I'll check the wiring.Any faults with your rear screen wiper, demister or number plate lights too?
