I just got a new V90CC and on recommendations went with Android Auto.

I looked forward to spotify and google maps etc.

I have set it up and cannot see what the fuss is about. When I have it open it only occupied the lower portion of the screen and has a similar layout to android auto on the phone which isn't that great. The car has a native spotify app that occupies the whole screen. (it took me while to get the car to find my mobile hotpot for data though for some reason).

Also when connected to the car via android auto there is an option "phone via android auto" but my phone shows up as disconnected?

Am I missing something? Have I not set it up correctly?

Edit: having had a bit more of a play and having watched some YouTube videos I think that's pretty much it. I can see me using it occasionally but compared to the cars native navigation and spotify apps I can't really see the attraction. I wouldn't describe it as indespesible and probably could have saved a few quid by not bothering with it. I think the phone disconnected thing is because you are then supposed to use android auto, so why not remove that tile and make the android auto screen bigger. Can android auto be used full screen?

I was also totally underwhelmed by both Android Auto and the Apple Carplay. They just look like very basic add-ons. The user interface without them looks very slick without these on, which makes these look poor. Paying £8 a month for them in my leasing cost!
