2009 XC70

Hi all,

I had a look around a 2009 D5 XC70 Geartronic AWD at a local garage. It’s done nearly 120k miles. It looks to have been well looked after and drives well. Being new to the marque, I don’t really know a lot about them - the pitfalls etc. I do remember reading a while ago about the (lack of) reliability with the auto boxes. Is this fair, or is it just internet hyperbole? To be fair to the car, the gearbox seemed fine when I test drove it. I’m just unsure if the box is a ticking time bomb.
Is there anything else I should be wary of? The cam belt is due and the garage would replace it before it being sold.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

The earlier autobox was certainly prone to issues, but mostly fixed on the later cars when they started fitting the 6 speed box opposed to the 5 speed. Worth a flush however if you plan keeping for a while.
