So here is a weird thing that has just started happening with my 2015 75000 mile V60

When you start accelerating in the car the interior heater fan speeds up.

It's quite noticeable as you can hear the fan inside the car quite loudly when this is happening.

This is not in any way linked to the engine revs or the cars speed. It only happens during acceleration.

If you rev the engine in neutral the fan is completely unaffected.

When driving the car the fan is very quiet until you Accelerate and during the action of acceleration the interior fan speeds up quite loudly. Once you reach a higher speed and you back off the accelerator so the noise of the fan disappears and it is as quiet as normal at the higher car speed

It does this under acceleration only , but from any speed whether you are pootling around town at 30 or on the motorway at 60 or 70 as soon as you start accelerating the fan revs up until you back off the accelerator to a cruising speed.

I'm baffled to even understand in my head how and why this would happen. If it was linked to the engine revs it would do it in neutral when you rev the engine. If it was linked to engine speed the fan would sound louder at high speed than it does at a lower speed.

But as it only does it during the period of acceleration I can't work out what would trigger it to start and stop.

Is this a known problem and is anybody else aware of it?

Sorry, very late to the party, but I think you have a boost leak. One of my boost hoses split and it sounded *exactly* as you describe. Bit of a red herring, it took me about an hour of driving to figure it out.
Drive with the windows down. If you have a whoosh noise under acceleration, it’s boost leaking.
